Collaboration

On Tuesday July 26th the second D-MATL collaboration day will take place. This event aims at improving the collaboration between the research groups of the department and reducing time “wasted" on figuring out where one can find appropriate know-how or do a specific measurement.

Representatives of 7 groups of D-MATL will present their instruments, techniques and know-how in a 30 minute presentation (see attached program). Additionally, the new XRD platform, as well as ScopeM, the microscopy facility of ETH, will be presented.

Breakfast, lunch and apéro are sponsored for all attendants. If you want to attend, please sign up here:http://doodle.com/poll/5ik2irshsdbfckqg
The deadline for registration is June, 26th. The exact location will be announced as soon as registration is closed, when we know how many people will attend the event.

We are looking forward to seeing many of you there!
Your SAM-Team,
Vivian, Martina, Yvonne, Moh, Kilian, Stefano and Chris

We are happy to invite you to the 3rd SAM General Assembly to vote a new board, discuss association matters and bring in ideas for the coming year. Join us, tell us what you liked so far and what you wish for the future. You are welcome to bring in topics you would like to discuss with us. Simply send us an email and we will address your ideas during the evening.

As every year, the General Assembly will be accompanied by a delicious hamburger BBQ and some self-made ice-cream. Additionally, we will set up a beamer for all football fans to not miss the EM qualifying games Northern Ireland-Germany and Croatia-Spain.

The Scientific Staff Association at the Department of Materials at ETH Zürich (SAM), the Materials Science Student Association at ETH Zürich (SMW) and the Swiss Association for Materials Science and Technology (SVMT) invites you all to a networking breakfast on Wednesday the 25th of May at 8:00 at the Alumni Lounge.

The goal of this event is to introduce you to networking opportunities for your future career in the Swiss Materials Industry. Marcel Menet, the President of the SVMT, will inform us about the association, its Switzerland wide network and the impact of networking on your personal career. The talk will be held in German, however questions during the discussion can be in English too.
